Cloud (Advent Children)
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005 - Movie)
FinalFantasy
In Smash, Cloud can take an appearance based on his outfit in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, making it one of the few elements of Smash based on a movie, rather than a game. Advent Children takes place about two years after the end of Final Fantasy VII, and in it, Cloud, while rescuing some kidnapped children, discovers a plot to resurrect Sephiroth. While using this costume, Cloud’s Buster Sword is replaced with the combined Fusion Swords.

Cait Sith
Final Fantasy VII (1997 - PS)
FinalFantasy
The most curious-looking of the Final Fantasy VII cast, Cait Sith is a talking robot cat who rides around in a giant stuffed toy Moogle. He works as a fortune-teller at the world-famous amusement park known as the Gold Saucer, where you can pay him some Gil so he’ll tell you something that passes as prophecy. He enthusiastically joins the party in their adventure, despite not having any obvious motive to doing it, or even being friends with (or liked by) Cloud and the others. But who knows? Maybe he has his reasons.

Arguably the most iconic Summons of the Final Fantasy series are the Bahamut line, draconic creatures that have appeared since the very first game. All Bahamuts are very strong but the most powerful strain of all is Bahamut ZERO. This creature dwells in the depths of space, and when summoned will fire from orbit its Tera Flare ability, dealing colossal non-elemental damage to all enemies.

This icy beauty is Shiva, one of the most recurring Summons in the Final Fantasy series. She’s generally very friendly, and will give her aid to your party without putting up a fight.

Ifrit is the recurring Fire-elemental Summon of the Final Fantasy series, and can be found rather early in almost all the games. Its appearance has greatly changed throughout the series, originating as a humanoid demon but gradually taking a more bestial design. Despite this, the scorching flames of its Hell Fire ability have remained intact. Though little is known about Ifrit himself, it is said to have a fierce rivalry with the Ice summon Shiva.
